| Content of a Business Card | All business cards have general contents requirements. A good business card should have at least a name of a person or company but also there are other essential and useful elements.
1. Name of Business or Organization It is obligatory to have a business or organization name on a business card. The name of the business or organization and the name of a person is usually the major text element of a business card. 2. Logotype A logo is used on business cards and other materials to establish a company's identity. 3. Slogan 4. Name of a person The name of the individual is the second essential element of any business card. This part can be useful for the recipient to have a specific contact name especially in a large organization. 5. Job Title It is not a required but desirable element. Some entrepreneurs or sole proprietors might include "President" or "CEO" or any other title to give reliability. 6. Address Absence of a physical address or a mailing address is not acceptable. Business cards of state and government officials are only exception. If the company does business exclusively online or by mail, a physical address might not be included. 7. Phone Number(s) You may list multiple numbers in order of voice, fax, cell but you can skip any numbers that are not useful for the recipient. The area and/or country codes and extension are also required. You can use parentheses, hyphens, periods, spaces, other characters to separate numbers in a phone number or not, but be consistent in whatever method is chosen. 8. Email Address If it is a Web-based business an email address is required on your business cards. Other businesses or organizations might skip this contact unless it is one of their preferred methods of contact. 9. Web Page Address. As with email addresses, it is an obligatory part of a business part for Web-based businesses. 10. Description of Business If the business name doesn't clearly express what the company does short description can be useful. It can also convey benefits and features. 11. Graphic Images If your company still has not a logo, you may use generic or stock images or custom illustrations that help emphasize what the company does. 12. List of Services or Products A long list may obstruct a standard size business card. But if you’ve decided to order two-sided or folded business cards a bullet list of services offered or main product lines can enlarge the usefulness of your business card.
