Formal business cards usually use single color or maximum two colors. The type of printing is also important. If the customer decided to use the photograph for the card then it goes for offset printing. If it is more of a text with no continuous toned graphic it goes for screen-printing.
Fonts The choice of font depends on the type of the card. Formal cards like the card of lawyer, doctor etc. require Times New Roman or Arial fonts. Using script fonts, properly adjust the distance between the characters by loosing the tracks. Bold and thick fonts are usually used for company title. The smallest size has Address font.
Spacing Generally a formal business card should be simple with good amount of white space. If a lot of things are added, the card can become too littered. Short cuts are used with the purpose of saving the space i.e. Rd for Road etc. The content of a business card should be short and precise. If the customer desires to emphasize the address, horizontal line can be drawn above it. If there is used more than one address it can be separated with the vertical line.
