Digital printing of business cards Digital printing is the fastest and cheap method of printing your business cards if a print lot doesn’t exceed 1000 cards. Before printing you may see a future business card, print a test copy and then make changes if necessary. But technical facilities are limited in quality, in range of ink powder, in range of materials and in printing speed. Besides not every sort of paper suits to digital printing. Such business cards do not do much credit to their owners.
Offset printing It is the most professional method of printing business cards. The technology of offset printing allows producing a great print lot in short time and at low cost. Offset printing is characterized by legibility, brightness and speed. This type of printing uses not only the main colors (CMYK) but also extra colors (pantone) as well as varnish. As a rule paper, cardboard, vinyl and plastic are used as a printing base. But offset printing has its own disadvantages as a high cost of small print lots and impossibility of rush orders.
Stamping There are different types of stamping: hot stamping (making of concave pictures) and relief stamping (making of convex pictures). Any material which is amenable to pressure and temperature effect may be used as a base for business card. Hot stamping is made by foil of standard colors. Unfortunately getting color with some constituents is impossible. Images’ endurance is very high if there are no aggressive chemical medium, mechanical effect or temperature more than 60°C.
 Foil-coating It is a process of agglomeration of ink powder with plated foil. Foil-coating allows colorful decorating your business card. Besides it is rather simple process. However you’ll have to choose sheet and plain material.
Serigraphy Serigraphy allows printing of a color image onto the base through a special silk-screen. You may notice a slight protrusion of the image over the surface. Today it is one of the most popular methods of producing business cards. As a rule print lot is 150 to 200 pieces. Serigraphy advantages: - process simplicity; - cheap equipment; - an opportunity to print on different materials; - sizeable thickness of applying paint and specific serigraphy brightness of colors; - durability of imprinted materials; - saving of money, if you print lot is small or middle; - special decisions; - better coating than in other methods.
This printing method is used for getting images that are proof against an external action.
